Procurement issues

Play Fair !

Submitted by Matt Harris on Thu, 2007-03-01 15:29. Procurement issues | tender process

Okay had my first taste of what i believe is a very unfair process - we were "invited" - this from a previous Public Sector client - to pitch for a large project under one of their sub-departments - that would be whittled down to 3 agencies for the 2nd stage interview.

Submitted by mattoneill on Mon, 2007-02-26 11:56. Procurement issues | communities | procurement | tendering

If the public sector are going to engage in much needed community engagement processes, they need to put aside some of their long-winded procurement procedures and work on a pilot project basis with smaller consultants that are already engaged in this process.

Submitted by huw williams on Fri, 2007-01-19 18:12. Procurement issues | PQQ | tenders

Some experiences of trying to tender for Government business

Submitted by huw williams on Thu, 2006-11-23 11:46. Procurement issues | PQQ | process | procurement | tenders

We have been responding to a number of tender opportunities in the area of web design and development, and have found the whole process extremely frustrating.

First, we have completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) for about a dozen opportunities. Although similar in some ways these are sufficiently different to take quite a while to complete. And mainly they are asking bureaucratic questions which have little or no relevance on our ability to do the work. Very few are online, and many require hard-copy submission.

The appropriateness of SMEs as providers for many new media services

Submitted by Paul Evans on Thu, 2006-08-31 18:23. Procurement issues | procurement quality public-sector best value

Government departments seem doomed to repeat the same mistakes whenever they procure web-related services.

Procurement

Submitted by Gez at Stardotstar on Fri, 2006-08-11 14:26. Procurement issues | procurement public sector best-value
I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts on the success and failures of public sector procurement processes - especially given that public sector commissions form such a huge part of the UK economy which we all operate in.
