enabling social innovation

in my recent professional experience there seems to be a growing enthusiasm and wave of interest around the notion of co-creation and collaboration in process design. whether this is between professionals collaborating together across specialisms or service designers and users working together, there is apparently a democratisation of creative process and value generation - isn't there? do you know of working examples that are recent or current here in the UK - across the public, private and social enterprise sectors? after all emergence is the new manna right - group wisdom is the new democratic panacea everybody knows more than somebody is the nouveau received wisdom isn't it?
